Wow I had no idea I could get involved in property investing with only $4000. It definately somthing Im now looking into doing sooner rather than later.

Can I claim the FHBG if im not living in the house though??? hmm might have to go study up on the NSW laws etc.. can anyone sugest any good links on where to start?

How do I begin to have a chance of finding these properties in other states??[blink]

Although I strongly believe in studing up and learning as much as possible before entering into any new venture.I certainly dont want to go in to anything with my eyes closed, blindly trusting someone elses opinion as fact. Im also a big believer in learning from experience, and would like to get into investing soon, so I can learn as much as possible. Nothing like steping out of your comfort zone to really get the learning curve happening [wink]

Sorry all I was joking about the NAB puts and was only suggesting a ‘paper trade’
BTW NAB down 0.34 cents my paper trade just made $280 over the weekend (bkg taken out)
Peanuts i know, and the stock market is very volitle, but an interesting excersise

Ah just answered some of my own questions with one quick google search [laughing]

“At least one applicant will occupy the home as their principal place of residence for a continuous period of 6 months commencing within 12 months of settlement or completion of construction of the home.”

Cant make use of the FHOG if purchasing thru a company either [glum]

    Hi Melissa

look into the FHOG, but you will need to liver in the property for sometime within the first 12 months. do a search of this site as there was lots of discussion that is now achived.

SuperTed, no i’m more than happy NOT being a moderator, who would want the hastles these poor people have to endure, thank goodness we have them they do a great job. Sorry i worded it poorly and you have taken my comment personally. i was attempting to tell John howard that the forum is trying to avoid this type of discussion. Usually when someone posts a very pro stock message like buy EMA it will go to 90 cents it usually ends up an arguement or being deleted anyway.

    regards westan

    Hi Jet,

If NAB heading south to $27.49 then you will only just break even. Do you think NAB will go down that far?

I bought two months worth of time value also. My puts are now ITM so they are rising in value cent for cent
I have usually found with NAB once it takes a beating it heads south for a while before rallying up

BTW we were asked what we would do with $4000 grand….in my opnion…blah blah

    Supa Freak,

Sorry I can’t say much more than this regarding share trading. Let discuss this NAB at http://www.aussiestockforums.com so we can say what we like over there.

    I hope you understand.

    Kind regards

I’d add it to your savings and one day you’ll have enough for a 10% deposit on a good piece of real estate.

I would invest $4K into about 8 rabbits, returning (conservative) $4320 after about 13 months…. then I’d have my money back, and still make about $400 per annum.[biggrin]

    Cheers

Hi Westan, late last week my PaperTrade was at $2400 clear profit. I do agree however, options are a sure way to lose money..that’s why i’m only allowed to paper trade now..

Melbear, rabbits sounds abour as risky as options.

    Hi all

Superted, what do you mean papertrade ? do you mean not actually buying them ?

The first time i bought call options was about 11 years ago we were poor students and i was sure that WMC was a sure bet. I had to talk my wife Janine into letting me do it. She knew the risks and wasn’t happy. So i said i’ll let you have half the profits to buy some new clothes. I only invested $750 but 2 weeks later she went on a $1000 shopping spree. saddly not all option trades are happy stories.

Mel- Rabbits ? at $500 each ??? and make 100% return in 12 months and 10% per year thereafter. Girlie start a WEB site RabbitInvesting.com and write a book 0- 1300 Rabbits in 3 1/5 years, i’ll buy it.
Just goes to show there are heaps of ways to make a dollar.
    regards westan
