You all seem extremely young (my husband and I are on the wrong side of 50). We’ve bought and sold houses over the years (usually because of transfers) and have only really gone into property investment this year. We’ve probably reached our limit with 4 units, a duplex, a house, a small mango farm, a 5 acre block plus our PPOR – all in regional Qld. We own our PPOR plus the 5 acre block and we’ve borrowed for the rest. We both have full-time jobs – I’d be bored if I didn’t work.

I wish we’d read some of the great investment books when we were in our 20s – we’d be in a far better position!

My advice is to get started as soon as you can and hold on to property for as long as you can.

    Hi all
I’m 22, bought my first IP when I was 20, this has since allowed me to purchase number 2 and 3 – gotta love the capital growth!
Every ones says to me “if I had my time over I’d invest in property” – As I see it I’m having my time so why not get started ASAP!
By the way can someone please explain what PPOR stands for, thanks.
    Cheers

    Hi,

I’m 29, bought a piece of waterfront land at 26, built a house over 2 years of weekends with my partner (!) and then used the equity to buy an IP 5 months ago.

    Cheers [;)]

    Hi All,

I think I’m 25 at the moment. Bought the first two at 21, next two at 22, and another two at 23 – had them all (bar one on the water) sold by 24 to set up my own financial planning company – looking at more next year.

It’s never to late, and it’s very too early to do things right.

22 years old and loving it. Would have been good
though if I knew what I know now when I was 16 or
    17. Like Budgeting and Investing.
    BUT “NO REGRETS” at all.

Just hit the slippery slope of 31 , feel 21 [:0)], look 18-ish [8D] (got asked for ID last week – cool!) and bought first PPOR last year after 10 years of poo-pooing property …. the foolishness of youth!

Making up for lost time now I’m in the mortgage & property game plus start options trading Monday, very exciting!
