Which of Brisbane western suburbs would be good to focus on for cosmetic reno? (i.e. no major changes, no structure changes, just stick to painting/kitchen/bathroom etc). By western suburbs I'm meaning from say around Riverhills, Middle Park, Jindalee, Indooroopilly, Oxley, Sherwood etc type areas.

Background – I'm reading you have to get the right suburb for the right type of reno, so if I start with a lower risk reno which no structural changes. Was thinking of PP around $350k-$550k

PS. Or it it highly recommended to go a bit closer to the city, e.g. Yerongpilly, Moorooka, Tarragindi etc?

Sounds like you would be working hard and not really working smart.

the self Reno idea is great in theory, but  (especially) in capital cities, it can be dangerous as markets can change and you could get stuck with it for longer than you thought.

Better off keeping it simple and buying a good investment property in a strong location, then get a hobby that is less stressful.

many of options and happy to help.
