I was hoping see if I could find out roughly what you are paying per SQM for construction costs? I have been using $900/1000 but wanted to know what others are getting in the field and what are the implications when you build double storey instead of single? I will be sourcing a few more builders tomorrow to compare prices.

What area are you building in ? The per square rates are very different in various parts of Australia.
In Sydney Region you might be on the money for a single storey .but in Other places you would be way out

Hi Marie- it depends on a lot of things. Standard of finishes, one story vs two story, where the property is being build (i.e. inner city vs outer suburbs of a capital city vs small regional centre), etc all have a big impact.
