As the question states, what business / industry are you all in?

    Ill start :)

I’m a 25 yo software developer who has his own company employing 7 employees, concentrating on providing software development and consulting services to various federal government departments.

I am currently thinking about moving into the wider applications software market, possibly developing investment & analysis software.

Love to hear what expertise and industries everyone else is involved with!

    I am a 29 yr old sports journalist/producer for t.v. in Melbourne.

I watch sport and get paid for it.

It’s hard to think of it as work… um, that’s about it.

    Gday Kris,
I’ll start, I’m feeling brave tonight!
I’m a toolmaker by trade, that means I make plastic moulds and other similar stuff. (not rakes and shovels as some think!)
I sort of transgressed into plant maintainance and Breakdown maintainance about 6 years ago ’cause the money was better and I found it more interesting.
I went into business for myself about 3 years ago, it started to go sour after 2 years, when a major customer didn’t pay up and went into recievership[:(!]!
So now I’m in construction, building, servicing and operating the self-climbing formwork systems, that reduce the build time, of the hirise CBD units I so love to bag[:0)], by about 1/3.
I don’t particularly like my job or the construction industry so I’m keen to become financially free ASAP!

    Cheers,
    Scott S

P.S. Somewhere in the middle I sold used cars, then installed car stereos and alarms. I needed a break from my trade!

    Hi there,

I’m employed by Centrelink [:D], I get paid to surf, snowboard and learn about real estate. It’s not all that it sounds though, I have to go to uni once or twice a week [;)].

I do my part in the summer teaching kids and people with special needs how to surf and sail.

I’m 27 and am working as a computer consultant for IBM. Like ksheather, I concentrate on providing software development and consulting services and so far have been primarily involved in building custom finance applications infrastructure.. I guess you can call me a “techo”.

I try to live with passion and I believe “the road of somedays lead the town of nowhere” – Anthony Robbins. I believe I will live at least 100 years or more. Now I am 27 years, 11 months and 23 days old and the clock is ticking. I still have at least 72 years and 7 days to live and counting down. So I must live my life to the max.

I’m an Electrical Engineer working for the railway in NSW. I get pay by reading and learning from this forum right now. As an Electrical Engineer I don’t have much things to do. I use my available time to search for IP and learn English because I believe English is essential in Aus.

I don’t aim for the star, but I have a very simple goal starting in 2000 to have 7 IPs by 2007, wrx 2004, small boat to go fishing by 2008, double storey house by 2010. I believe it is realistic. I know a lot of people have many IPs ie. 10, 20, 30, 100, 200 or more. I also want to learn from them and how do they do it.

I’m 29 and work for a financial services/planning company in Sydney – in the NSW head office. I look after our branches and financial planners in Sydney and some regional areas – mostly in the training, business planning and compliance areas.

I am a CFP myself – but a bit rusty given its all qualifications and no experience!

    Hi hi everyone,

I’m one of the young’uns on this forum…having been popped out 19.somethingorother years ago. Currently I’m studying fulltime (heh…here comes Centrelink…) but in about 5 years -eesh!- I’ll be working my little tush off as an intern. I figure that if I spend 5 years researching property, once I actually have money I will be confident enough to actually spend it! [;)]

Anyways, its great to see people from all walks of life in this forum connected through common interest [:)]
