Fantastic to read the thread Leigh started with everyone introducing themself and adding a personal touch to the site,

Noted that majority were couples and I’m wondering if there are any singles out there doing the property investment thing solo….

i am and to say the least it can be a little daunting, not having anyone in the flesh (so to speak) to bounce ideas off or share the excitement, risk and searching for IP’s with…

So single property investors (if any do exist other than myself) jump on line and share your story of who you are & how your doing…

As for me I’m a young 30 year old (well, after 30 doesnt count) I have 2 IP’s (both commercial) bought by fluke long ago.. Have my own home and some equity so really want to buy a positive cash flow property in the next 6 weeks (thats my goal),
    Over to you….

    Hi Cocopops,

I’m one of the ‘singles’ – a 23y.o recent University graduate. I know what you mean about not having a someone (partner) to bounce ideas off as couples do. I’m a big believer in having a good team behind you and personally Im quite fortunate enough to have some financially like-minded friends who I can talk to about finances and investing so thats pretty good.

At this stage I dont have any IP’s yet, as I’ve been spending the past several months doing the whole ‘gettin educated about property’ thang, but through the course of doing that I’ve taken a much more active approach to my finances and wealth creation. My approach for the immediate future is to continue reading/learning what I can while my money builds up so that when Im ready I’ll have the financial capacity (and perhaps more importantly, good knowledge) to begin the portfolio.

    Regards,
    Brett [:)]

    Hi Cocopops,

I’m in the same boat as you, single and IP hunting. Here is what I posted on the IP Roll Call started by ENJOlady,

    “Hi All,

I’m Ish and my first real experience of this positive IP community was at the Masters Seminar. I’m hooked!!!!

Yesterday I negotiated and agreed on my first IP!!! Thanks so much to this community and site in assisting me to be educated enough to do that.

A little about me, I’m 36 and live in Sydney’s southern suburbs. No partner or kids…yet. I do however have 2 beautiful nieces, 6 and 8 years old.

I work as a training consultant for a company based in North Sydney but spend most of my work time in Australia’s capital cities running training courses. Plenty of time in hotels for searching the internet for properties I guess!!!

Nice to hear a little about all of you and was wondering if maybe we could go the next step. How do people in Sydney feel about setting up the occassional social meeting? Like minded people getting together and sharing experience, face to face! I’m more than happy to be the organiser so if you’re interested, drop me an email with the following preferences:

    Frequency – ie. 1/month, 1/3 months, etc
    Day of week
General Location – city, north, etc?
Drinks only or food and drinks

Hope to hear from the Sydney -ites soon,

    Ish

PS: look to the left of your screen to work out what goes in place of the asterisks!!!!

PSS: Don’t know if this has already been organised by others, so if so, please fill me in”

I’m happy to have someone to talk with. Where are you based? Hope to hear from you soon.

    Ish

    hi Ishita

I also work at North Sydney, maybe we could have lunch together one day. I like to participate in other meeting too.

BTW, why are you putting ** in your email address? Is it to stop spammers getting your address?

Hi Cocopops and everyone else [:D]

I’m also solo, working full time with 1 child at home and have one IP (former home). I’m finding all this reading very, very interesting. I’m currently looking for another home to invest in but it’s all a bit daunting. It’s hard to know which way to go. But thanks to this forum and site, i’m becoming more informed by the minute!

    Great work guys.
I look forward to contributing and communicating with fellow members of this forum.

    Regards
    Laura

    Terryw and Nick,

Terryw – Firstly, I’m not that savvy electronically to put asterisks in my name. The reason is that the site thinks I’m swearing, and it is technically correct because my name is spelt with a rude word in it. [:O]

Funny though, if you look to the left, my full name is displayed, so go figure???? So you should be able to work out my email address now.

Nick, great minds think alike[:P] I’ll post up a new topic right away. The idea is so buried in the previous post that I don’t think anyone else will read it.

    See you there,

    Ish
