As I am new in the country, I would like some assistance with my first property purchase. A piece of land to build my primary place of residence.

Who would be the best to help me with this process? A solicitor or conveyancer? And any referrals for the Eltham, Diamond Creek, St Helena, Greensborough area would be appreciated.

Orxy, Welcome to our country & to this forum :) We prefer to use Solicitors but you’ll find on this forum that many investors use either conveyancers, dependant on their experience & the project they are tackling :)

We have used conveyancers but our last purchase required a lawyer to witness our signature and it cost $200 – so will only use Lawyers from now on

We have used both, but because of the complexity in most purchases we prefer a solicitor.
