This sounds like an awesome idea!

I think whoever said it was right, there needs to be some sort on online thing. Seeing as we are all from far reaching parts of the country, it is going to be very hard to network.

I have some ideas of how it could work, and i would love to organise this, but is there the interest for it? The biggest thing it would have for all you guys is a kind of chat room, and there would need to be a ‘director’ of sorts for each state, and it would be partly up to that person to choose dates, locations etc to meet. There could be a meeting group for each state, and then there could be notes posted on the site about what happened at that meeting for people who couldnt make it.
There needs to be a focal point from which the whole thing could operate from, and i would be happy to organise that, how do the rest of you feel?

Hey, i’m 22 and i’d be keen to do this because i’ve just mainly read books and haven’t talked to a lot of people about IP. However, I live in Mildura (Country Victoria on the Murray River) so it would be almost impossible to organise meetings up here with a group of people??? Anyone from near me? I’ll probably be moving back to Adelaide in 18months time.

    Cheers

    Good afternoon,

I would love to have replied to this posting earlier but had a week of trouble trying to sign-up to the site.

I am a 26 year old in the early stages of having my first Australian investment property built after previous investments in Canada and the UK. I am having a 3 bed house and 2 bed apartment built on a multi-residence zoned block of land in Maleny. This is due to begin construction in mid September with final completion hopefully with enough time to catch families looking to move into the area for the start of the new school year. I have done the figures on the property a thousand times over and have calculated that the property should just nudge into cashflow positive but only time will tell.

I would be very keen to hear of any other investors who have had experience in the Hinterland areas or who are on the look-out for investments in Brisbane proper.

It is fantastic to see a group of people shareing information and I would certainly like to hear from any young investors in Australia.

    Cheers,
    Krissy

Absolutely great idea! The way the world is changing, the earlier we begin to walk the investment path the better. I’m 23yo and would love to share ideas with those who are just starting out as well….
    co-operation can achieve soo much!

check out http://www.thelandlord.com.au – it’s a great resource for Landlords who manage their own property and it’s only $110 for a year!!!
I find the info really helps.

I also agree its a good idea. I would be interested and a close friend might be as well. I live in South-East Melbourne. I currently have a small share portfolio but am very interested in property. Would be happy meeting in the city if thats convenient for others.

    Hi Everyone

I am 30 & also live in SE Melbourne. Have experience in investing in Country NSW and would like to know more about the Melbourne property Market.
I have been watching closely since moving here almost 4 years ago but have not purchased anything here as yet. Still investing in Country NSW – about to start building soon.

A young Investors club sounds like a great idea.[exhappy]

I would love to join the club or attend meetings etc…
I’m on the Gold Coast, but as stated earlier, their is a big difference between talking about it & actually doing it.
So basicly we need a motivated person with experience to ‘lead’ <- only term i could think of lol.

Note: I am also 18, but have been studying the property market since the age of 8 and consider myself to half a reasonable broad amount of knowledge on the topic, but after reading through this forum for the last 6 months or so. I have plenty to learn :)

If anyone would like to discuss the feasibility of this club/group or just property in general. Add me to msn: [email protected] (0 is the number zero)

    Cheers,
    Felix

    Hi

I think that’s a fantastic idea seeing as though I bought my first property when I was fairly young. Plus I am really passionate about property. Does anyone work in the city?

    Regards

    Hi Guys

I’m young (at heart). I posted on this thread a couple of weeks back that unless someone takes the “lead”, this will not be anything except a good idea. Looks like we still have the same issue.

I’m an experienced property investor, author and creator of a business tool for property investment.

    I occasionally visit various States.

I will be in Brisbane between 17th and the 22nd August. I’m happy to organise this and set up the Brisbane/Gold Coast “club” first while I’m there, and organise a model for the other States.

As a starting point, email me directly on [email protected] with your contact details (name, email, contact number, address) – use the message header “Young (at heart) Investors Club”. I could go thru this thread and contact each one of you, but it will be quicker if you provide me the details, and it will ensure I don’t miss anyone,

When I get the details, I’ll make some arrangements for the first meeting in Brisbane (and also how we can get this off the ground around Australia in the other States.)

For some background about my experience in property investment, I’m an author of the book listed below and you can also view some details on my website http://www.888abundance.com. If there’s sufficient commitment, I’ll throw in a property investment boardgame/business tool for the “members” as an investment for the future in the “Foundation” group in Brisbane.
