I’ll follow up your advice Robert, for bookkeeping clarity sake;- I have taken Stuart’s information onboard (and managed to catch up with my latte accountant)

I must also say I am impressed with Australia Post Platinum Express post service – I posted the documents in Townsville yesterday afternoon @17:30 and I had a phone call from the Perth…[Read more]

    Hi Terryw,

For starters, I’m not bagging the financier – pretty much a clerical error, at a very bad time! I am fortunate enough to have direct service where I can pick up the phone and ask if I’m good for $x.

Completed boilerplate forms are sent to me to autograph, the ‘standing order’ has been a lend in my name in a separate account structure.…[Read more]

Again, thanks all – your offerings have taken the squeemish feeling away.

Now that I have sent the thing off, I will elaborate on the situation – if you’re interested!

I live interstate of the IP (I’m in QLD – IP in WA)
Financier branch – with whom I have a relationship is in country WA – lending centre is Perth. Going for a no cash down, IO…[Read more]

    Thanks TMA,

You put it back into perspective by saying ‘property expenses will be all yours’ because – at least it is in my name.

    Kudos to you!

    Hear Hear Ausprop,

FIFO is tedious from a personal point of view, economic point of view and a social point of view.

The ability to attract and retain quality staff is more difficult with an average staff churn at 3 years.

Economically, FIFO worker “A” may earn $100K, but there still are the costs of accomodation, catering and flights to…[Read more]

    F,
Is that bullion or paper gold? I like Olly Newland’s quote in “The Day The Bubble Burst” about actually possessing the metal…

    Same here…

I wrote to realestate.co.nz and I received a reply stating that they were frustrated at REA’s not updating the information and doing nobody any favours…

I also get annoyed with oz REA’s and their maintenance of websites too. I have phoned the poor souls at funny hours to do a deal, with them only to say that the property has sold…[Read more]

    Hi Marisa,

Thoughts on the underappreciation of Waikiki / Cooloongup / Warnbro / Safety Bay (anything but SwingingPig) ?

Sometime ago, I used to live in Waikiki – when the Wanbro Fair, Waikiki shops seemed to pop up and thought what a great place.

    So now, the area has,
    – Murdoch Uni annexe
    – A heck of a lot of Schools
    – Plenty of…[Read more]

  • the.j replied to the topic Fine line with locations in Townsville in the forum General Property 19 years, 5 months ago

    Hi RIcksta,

Townsville is a tricky one! My experience is that people have very strong affiliations with suburbs due to a suburb’s facility and style. The area really does have that diversity of 100k to 1.1M as you would have discovered so far.

My personal preference is for Railway Estate, South Townsville, City, North Ward, Belgian Gardens,…[Read more]
