No. Like any loan, some have exit fees but many don’t. The comparison rate will NOT take into account these fees so you have to look at the impact of these fees yourself. They are usually termed deferred establishment fee or something similar.

There is a strategy commonly used by medium to long-term share traders called ‘dollar cost averaging’. Why would you not also apply this to property investing?

Dazzling, I don’t think right of refusal works like that unfortunately.

Personally, if I really wanted it, I would offer more than asking price on the condition they allow you to pay whatever amount equates to deposit and costs you need to get the finance deal done over a period of time that you can afford.

It is not a real issue for you. You can buy anywhere but cannot chose any broker you want. A broker who is not registered in the ACT cannot legally write your loan.

In WA, a broker has to be licensed or they cannot legally write the loan for a WA resident.

I prefer loans with offset accounts as opposed to a LOC. It provides a lot more flexibility and is usually cheaper to obtain and maintain.
