    Hi

I too have read many books and was quite skeptical to go. I did (just myself) and found it motivational and useful (information and networks). I got in early and recieved early bird discount.

    Cheers

We analysed a deal similar to this recently and found that the so-called profit of $60K on this particular project turned out to be untrue by the time we contacted council regarding length of time, interest payments, etc. We did a worse case scenario and best case scenario regarding all expenses and finally decided to leave it alone. Your cash/loan situation would be different to ours, but be thorough with your figures.

    Good luck!

I agree with Terry. A realestate agent friend of mine, said a case similar to this went to court, and the agent recieved his full commission.

    Hi Lee,

Sorry can’t tell you of our old accountant in Bundaberg because he went bankrupt! Luckily we changed awhile before that. We now use a Brisbane accountant. No extra trouble with distance.

    Cheers.

I have read this site for over a year now and only recently found the courage to write in. My knowledge is no where near where most others are and so will always be asking ‘silly’ question. I am encouraged by the answers given, so will continue to learn through this website.

    Cheers

We live in Brisbane, and feeling the same things about prices. We have now moved out of our comfort zone and am looking at regional Qld and other place. Have found a good deal recently. Just keep looking. Good deals are always out there to be made.

    Cheers.

    Hi Economist,

There is a Brisbane Investment Group (BIG) that meets at Coopers Plains once a month. I have not had a chance to go but they have guest speaks and costs about $10-$15 each time. If you do a search on this website you might find it.

    Cheers.

My next door neighbour recently wanted to sell his place by himself and used http://www.owner.com.au. It has been over 8 months but still no takers. We are in the southside of Brisbane and other houses were sold within 2-5 months. I think if you have the time on your hands and you continue to get independent advise, you can still make a good go of it. He has taken it off the market but as he is not in a hurry, he will continue to market it himself if he puts it up for sale in the future.

    Cheers

Just to add to mja’s question. If you are a company and say you bought 2 blocks of land with intention to build houses on it in 6-8months time. Can you still deduct interest?

I agree with Surrey. At the end of the day it is your money and your decision. As Steve said it’s all about doing things differently.

I agree with you Lonnie. The suburbs in Brisbane mentioned are worth looking at. That’s where my friend has made the most of his money. There are good tenants out there also, so it is always about due diligence.

    Cheers

I like the idea of the website. The most important thing for me is to not only get the basic interest rates information etc, but hot tips you and others in the industry might have with loans etc.

    Thanks.

Hi, my age is above 25 but I have a sister who is twenty-four. She has done Environmental Science and now a fashion course. She’s just going to settle on a property soon. My parents are wrapping her the deal.

    Thanks.

Thanks for the story. I’m a mum myself and have the game but have not seem to ‘find the time’ to play it yet. Your story might have just given me the push I need.

    Thanks

I found Steve’s seminar today (Brisbane May 7) was great. All the basics were covered and then he went onto the nitty gritty. Learning how to bring all the deals down to a simple formula was the best part for me. My calculator will now be a permanent fixture in my hand bag (and a spare one in the car!).

I have just bought the CD but have not used it yet, but thought I might ring around for rough prices e.g. building inspection report costs and the like. I think once I’ve rung/researched it at the beginning then I may be able to use the figures again (to analyse like deals). I don’t think there is a real short ‘short’ cut to this, as you want your figures as accurate as possible.
