    Good post Life X .

I have a tendency to spend too much time with my work and finance and not enough time with the family . Getting the balance right I always find is a struggle.

I often think of what Kiyosaki wrote in one of his books ( forget which one) that people who work ALL the time are really lazy as they are neglecting everyone and…[Read more]

A: I consider a block width of around 100 metres to be nice, with around 2 – 5 acres in size on the fringes of suburbia.

Q: Would you consider investing in eastern European countries even if you did not speak the language ?

A: Ask them if they have time for a game of cards and a light beer. Then after , say , half an hour , ask them what they did with their money during the depression? If that doesn’t work then try other angles and drinks! Avoid being too intense. Usually it will come out eventually….

Recently in the age I read that the fastest growing age group in America is the over 100’s.
More and more people are living to be 100.

With the advancement in medical science in recent times would it be unreasonable to believe that people may one day not die? Just have a reno every few years [angel]

I think the Boks are going to be hard to get past the way they are playing with their rush defense.

I know an old guy called Neil low and oddly enough he has a great deal of trouble with his knees……..

You have to wonder what his folks were thinking of then

Have a small 10 by 5 trailer but don’t use it a lot. The wife is no good at backing and our ute serves most purposes.

Oh , that reminds me , I must get the quad serviced, after a clean up! They are overpriced these things for what they are and how long they last. And chew through the juice too eh?

NO. I would not call a plummer for changing a washer . If you jump for that then what will it be next ? Lightbulbs ?

I reckon , as you say , fix it themselves or live with it.

Don’t become a yes person for tenants too quickly , unless there are special reasons.

Once I had a case where tenants were getting electric shocks off the Taps! It turned…[Read more]

I think I asked this question a year or so ago as I had read that guru, Dolf Dee Roo’s had been buying there. Also have read that huge opportunities were opening up there .

Not much help sorry . Hav you been there ?

This thread brings back memories of my first car. A 78 Datsun 120y , you know,in the orange. Bought it in 83 when I was still in high school. Cost 7k and I had 6k of my own to throw at it and my folks loaned me the balance which seemed to take forever to pay back.

The only trouble was it wouldn’t stay on the road very well and it wasn’t too roomy…[Read more]

Well, what an interesting topic. Things are not always as they seem eh.

We have a 93 model magna as our main car with 270 clicks on the clock. Have had very little trouble with it in spite of what people say about magnas.

Also we have an 86 model Nissan tray back ute in a diesal. Just got our diesal rebate back as we are primary producers. Claim…[Read more]

    I also enjoyed the newsletter.

I have just finished reading the second book and if you could not be inspired by the mappers then nothing will inspire you I say.

I can relate well to Wil and Del , but BTW , Don’t see them on the forum any more?

How some of the mappers got started with no money is a wakeup call to those of us with money.

Good on you for having saved 10k.

I would not put this in a ‘white bread investment, (managed fund)

Save up a bit more and check out a couple of mortgage brokers to see what you could do.

I reckon one of the best learning things for kids is plain old monopoly. In our house (when dads not too tired)I think I get the biggest kick out of it. My kids are 10 , 8 & 6. Just seeing them get a buzz from it and watching their personality ……….. And hopefully no tantrums!!!!!

I remember Dolf and Robert K on an audio saying that it was extremely difficult for a foreigner to own property in Japan. Is this the case ?

How are you going with your japanese ? [dazed]

Welcome to the forum Mermaids. Are you hooked yet?

Greg has put up a good reply with some good reading. I don’t post much but get a fix out of reading others stuff. One things for sure, there are plenty of books available on property these days but not many really help when things turn to custard. There is no substitute for experience.
