I am buying a commercial property and have been advised that it should be bought in a company/Trust Structure rather than in an individual name.
Just want to know if that is the usual way for buying a commercial property? any pro & cons?

what is your recommendation about the trust structure suggested by my accountant?
also could you please suggest someone who can check the lease documents for me and what are the approx charges for doing so?

Thanks Terry, These things are so confusing and this is the first time I am dealing with them. Talk to different people and everyone says some thing different.
Could you please recommend and Lawyer in Melbourne whom i can consult, if in SE suburbs would be better.

Thanks Terry.. i have spoken to bank and they said I can have loan under both of us and title can be under my wifes name… my accountant told that should be fine for protection purposes. Whats ykur suggestion on this??

See for my current property i paid around 400K plus expenses and for it at the time i have give 10% deposit and so far i have paid another bit over 10% which is sitting in my mortgage and can be withdrawn.I went to real estate agent to know the current value of property and he told its worth around 470- 480K so i think i got bit of equity But …[Read more]
