This article compares RENTING a home and investing the rest of your money in superannuation vs pursuing the great Australian dream of buying your own principle place of residence. I would like to see an article of Renting a home and investing in Super VS buying IP’s. How does that compare in the long run??

I wouldn’t say you lost your FHOG if you actually used it. I think it was the comment about your “Joint-venture i.e. I only put down $300 of the $1000 deposit and got access to security via the joint venture”
By bringing someone else in on the deal you may not have been eligible to use the FHOG anymore. If you were still able to use it then good for you.

I’m new to the forum but I am very interested in where ‘Foundation’ is coming from! Are you playing devils advocate or are you suggesting there are better ways to invest your money at the moment then IP’s? I have two IP’s and a small parcel of shares and I doubt the level of excellent performance from either sector will be repeated in the next few years. What are your thoughts? Sarcasm welcome!!
