    1 – Helpful to others
2 – Too helpful to my own detriment

Hithere andreaw. A couple of years ago the body corporate manager mistakenly used our sinking fund in general accounting. $46000 went AWOL. We are now paying it back.

I believe that Body Corp has a duty to investigate it further. If possible, could you defer your body corp payments until they get off their butt and do somthing about it? Sounds like they are hoping you out it into the too hard basket and forget about it.

A complaint sounds like a good thing. Mention it to your manager and see what he says, maybe he’ll change his mind [evil4]

    Just my opinion here.

Have you got a mouse with a scroll wheel that also acts as a button?

If you have you can set it up to make it easy to scroll long distances. All you do is press the middle button then move ths mouse up. Upon pressing, the pointer should turn into and up and down symbol.

I sympathise with your addiction too, it must be “going around.”

My first question would be, “Who would want to live in a place like that?”

2 – What happens to the costs of setting up the development each time ( sewerage, power, water etc)?

I just reread the post – do you mean accomodation for contractors etc while they are working on a site?

    Riiiiiiight.

    My answer – “Huh?”

I think a face to face would be helpful here, that is if the council is not to far away.

WElcome to the forum sedraash. Steve’s “seminar” was on the weekend. If you search for posts from yesterday and today you will find a thread detailing how it all went. It definately did not cost 000’s of dollars.

    Cheers

Hi, first of all welcome to the forums isyden. I don’t know much about developing a property, but with what I do know, you wil need to get council approval AND an idea of what they require in regards to an easement. I know that they require acces to it and are basically allowed ti rip up any garden etc on their way to it.

There is a new forum section that has just started here regarding property development. Moderated by an actual proprty developer. He would be the one to talk to.

    Cheers and good luck

I have Whittles as Body Corp for my unit in Alice Springs. The main problem we had a few years ago was that someone did some dodgy accounting and used up our sinking fund. We now have an extra $40 to fees to top it up again.

    Other than that, average overall.

I agree with Monopoly. I do like to hear stories of people meeting etc, but I would like to hear an in depth “review,” so to speak of the actual day.

    Would you go again? etc

    Cheers

If you think you are ready, do a dummy deal. Go through the steps required, and see if you believe you have any deficiencies in information, fix it.

As you have been doing, ask around here. There is a thread around somewhere, youll have to search, on the order of buying a house. That will help too.

Follow the advice given previously, and you are on your way.

    Cheers

Wish I did. I read it somewhere, maybe even here on the forum, or was it Robert Kiyosaki?

I can’t remember, but a while ago I put in an offer on a house, I wasn’t embarrassed, but my girlfried said “Isn’t that a bit low?” Immediately the owner came down $10K. Still nowhere near what I offered, but they came down immediately.

Give it a go. They can only say no.

“If you’re not embarrassed by your offer, it’s not low enough”

It’s amazing what could happen, you can always go up, but you can’t reduce your offer.

Hi there. Please do a search on this. This exact question has been asked before. You may find the info you want there.

And by the way, welcome to the forums.

If you get hold of the local council where you are looking, they will have records and the appropriate designations on hand. Either that or try an insurance ( long shot ) that may have on record info about flood areas.

Hope this helps ( I don’t know any links to websites )

    Cheers
