<p>Actually I haven&#8217;t declared any income from the foreign IP as its been consistently negative.. <img src="/wp-content/uploads/smileys/frown.gif?x75824" width="" height="" alt=":-(" title=":-(" class="bbcode_smiley" />   I&#8217;ve been receiving tax credits for this in NZ, but was advised that I don&#8217;t need to declare it over here until it becomes positive.</p>
<p>Think I need to find a good accountant over this side..!  Any suggestions?  (I&#8217;m in Sydney)</p>

<p>I&#8217;m not Australian resident, but am resident for tax purposes.  Is there a difference in this regard?</p>
<p>I bought the property immediately after I moved to Australia so it would be touch and go, but I think I did own it before becoming tax resident in Australia.</p>
<p>So I&#8217;m guessing that makes a difference in my liability for CGT?</p>
