Either way, it’s always good to diversify some of your money!

Most locals consider West Tamworth and Coledale to be separate. True, Coldedale is technically a part of West Tamworth – though most of West Tamworth (compared to Coledale) has quite a good area & housing affordability.

You might also like to consider just over the railway in South Tamworth area. I'm in the process of purchasing a property on Croydon Ave (*Fingers crossed* i'll be getting 7.8% return).

Coledale has very little capital growth potential whilst South Tamworth will be neutral or modest over the next few years. Like most other areas in Tamworth.

    Hope this helps!!

I have no idea about the tax, seems pretty complex!  Make sure you know that if you were take $2000 out of your home loan and invest elsewhere (assuming you are paying say 7% interest), then that $2000 would have to MAKE at least 7% just to break even. That's the correct assumption isn't it?

    Good luck!

    Hi Jono,

I’ve recently bought my first property in Tamworth. I live in Canberra now but Tamworth is my home town and it would be good to meet and network when I come home a few times a year about the local market. PM me if interested.

    Cheers,
    Anthony
