Hi Zmagen, I was thinking about investing in the US property, but after careful research and consulting with other property investors, I have decided to postpone it for now.

Like previously suggested Rent To Buy would be the perfect option. The property would remaing yours until your buyer pays you the remaining balance. 

I read that Gladstone will be the next super infrastructure town, so I think it is a good time to invest in the area.  With all new workers coming into town, I am sure you will have plenty of tenants.

I recommend you to buy a car first with your offset money and then think about a new investment.  Good luck!

I personally would not buy 1 bedroom apartment, I do not think they are good investment. I always invest in 2-3 bedroom houses or units. Those properties give me the highest cash flow.
