    A few suggestions to make the season special (& inexpensive) :
    Print out all those internet jokes that you like and send them to others to give them a laugh and/or take them along to your local aged care facility and entertain the residents (it will make you feel good too).
    Instead of sending cards, phone the people you really want to stay in touch with – it will probably cost you less.
    Emphasise to family and friends that you don’t expect any presents but that their presence is important – have a simple meal together and have some fun games, singing, dancing etc. – enjoy yourselves and find the best in each other (and tell each other what that is!)

    Thank you for the positive feedback – it is depressing to think you’re stuck in a bad situation – now I see a light at the end of the tunnel – I hope we can find a mortgage broker who can help us – but if you say they’re out there, then I will go looking!
