You may get an enamel package with the old style solid elements for that price, but you need to spend $1500-$2000 to get stainless steel . Have you tried looking in the local papers for auctions in your area you might get a bargain that sometimes still come with warranties.

    Hi FREDDIE2SHOES
I grew up in the Wavell Heights/Chermside area in Brisbane .I do recall moderate aircraft noise in the area but am not aware it the levels have increased greatly .I would keep watch on developments at Brisbane airport with the second runway proposal gathering momentum it could change current flight paths over previously unaffected suburbs.Properties on the high side of Rode Road generally have good views and some have fantastic city views, the suburb is served well by Brisbane City Council buses and is only a short distance from Nundah or Northgate train stations. There is a huge range of shopping options with Westfield Chermside close by and Westfield Toombul as well .The area is well served by public and private schools with Nudgee colledge not that far away. All in all a great suburb that has seen good capital growth over the years.Hope this helps

    Hi
I would at least get a building and contents policy ASAP to at least cover yourself ,you can always re-evaluate once you start your reno work.

Why is there so much negativity surrounding property investing, theres another topic altogether. I agree with AmandaBS and try to get them involved in some way, it may enable them to see what you are tying to achieve. My parents help with all my reno work and enjoy getting involved, not to mention the free labour can be a big help.

Providing you intend to have a new loan drawn up for the $100k the interest would be tax deductible. I am no expert so I am sure someone else will correct me if i am wrong.

The problem stems from the fact that the tenant spoke to two different staff in the office, the second one not knowing that i had arranged for my plumber to go their in the first place.

I borrowed the full amount for my IP as well as for the associated costs plus an extra 10k for reno costs the bank had no problem with this, the extra was deposited in my a/c on settlement .
Although it was a mortgagee in possesion sale and i bought at below market value. Hope this helps.

    Cheers
