    Hi

I had an experience that I wish no one has. This happened when I was 19 I had gone to my girlfriend’s uncle’s place as her uncle and aunt were not there and was not supposed to come till late night and then I was supposed to have dinner with them once they came back.

Well, I got there and one thing led to another and we where “ being naughty” in the front room when all of a sudden we heard the door key turn and, there was uncle and aunt who came earlier than expected coz they did not go out as planned. We where stark naked and froze there for about 10 sec.

Trust me I don’t remember what happened after that. I think we went inside to cover ourselves up and then I did not speak a word till I had dinner with them. I was just laughing and nodding my head like an idiot and was red like a beetroot till I left the house. I just could not speak and my girlfriend was kicking me and shoving me to speak. But I just could not …

I have never been embarrassed so much and I think I will never forget that in my life time

And even after 5 years I can not see her uncle and aunt straight in the face and talk. I always try to avoid them…

    Marc

“In Japan to acquire citizenship you must live in Japan for 3 generations. Then pass a detailed scrutiny and a test to see if you have really become a Japanese. An inspector will come to your house and see what kind of foods you cook, what furniture you use, what cloths. Any smell of foreign food or customs will mean rejection to your application.”

Thank god they don’t have that here. I swear I am very bad at cooking any food leave alone Aussie food

    Hi
    My point of view

I have been in Australia for nearly 3 years. I did my uni here and at the moment working full time. So far I have been here I have never come across any sort of racism here in Australia against me. IN fact The country where I come from has more racism and people discriminate if you are from a different state in the same country. People from south do not like people from north and everyone thinks the other person has a bad attitude. Every state has its own religion, language, and culture.

Compared to that Aus has a very tolerant society. I am having a good time here and looking forward to meet more people no matter what colour , caste , creed etc etc you are.

    Felicity

“We had a fabulous time, and at one point I actually sat there and felt proud to be Australian. Nobody had even thought twice about the diversity of backgrounds, we had a common interest and that was all that mattered.”

Yes you have every reason to be proud and as u say common interest is all that matters.

    An Old But Classic Case

A Charlotte, NC, man having purchased a case of very
rare, very expensive cigars, insured them against fire
among other things. Within a month, having smoked his
entire stockpile of cigars and without having made
even his first premium payment on the policy, the man
filed a claim against the insurance company. In his
claim, the man stated the cigars were lost “in a
series of small fires.” The insurance company refused
to pay, citing the obvious reason that the man had
consumed the cigars in the normal fashion. The man
sued….and won. In delivering the ruling the judge
agreeing that the claim was frivolous, stated
nevertheless that the man held a policy from the
company in which it had warranted that the cigars were
insurable and also guaranteed that it would insure
against fire, without defining what it considered to
be “unacceptable fire,” and was obligated to pay the
claim. Rather than endure a lengthy and costly appeal
process the insurance company accepted the ruling and
paid the man $15,000 for the rare cigars he lost in
“the fires.” After the man cashed the check, however,
the company had him arrested on 24 counts of arson.
With his own insurance claim and testimony from the
previous case being used against him, the man was
convicted of intentionally burning his insured
property and sentenced to 24 months in jail and a
    $24,000 fine.

    Hi Peter
You seem to be a voracious reader of different kinds of books and you say it helped you immensely in your success. I know knowledge is abundant out there and if you put your time and effort into reading these books and apply that knowledge it will help us in a great way to succeed in whatever we do.

If you don’t mind me asking can you tell us what approach and strategy do you take when reading a book to get all the important information you need.

I know this is a silly and basic question, but do you read books over and over again or take notes as you read and read that again and again till it gets stuck in you head or jot down important points? Do you tend to take action immediately (as in applying that knowledge in the real world)? Did you concentrate on one topic at a time when you started or read at random at any book you feel is good.

    Thanks and regards

    Hi Peter and all
as per your recomndation i went and bought the book ” the richest man in babylon” and it was fantastic. i was reading it till 3 in the morning ..( I dont think i did that when i was at Uni..).. it is so simple and eays to understand and gives the basic ideas on how to make money which applies even in the 21st century ..

i realised that i have overlooked the simple and basic rules about money and as i am in the financial industry i tend to concetrate on the latest strategies yet forget the basic stuff..

    thanks Peter
and started reading ur book wealth magic..half way …interesting read ..as some what similar to richest man in babylon..as in in that book it tells how to be an expert and specilse in ur field to increase income and in ur book it talks about being unique to earn more….

again ur book is similar to tony robbins unlimited power..talks about taking action. as knowledge without action is useless….

looking forward to finish reading ur book
    thanks again

    regards

    Hi Dragon

At present i am working as an accoutant and the same time doing my CA qulification. well as far as i know i am not aware of any specific subject where we learn about property investing. But then again when you start working you will meet a lot of clients who are property investors and get a good exposure and learn from that as well as taxation for property investment.

    hope this helps

    regards
