I have paid for the Rates and any other service charges on the Rates Account. But this is a Bill from the Water Authority for usage and it has the extra service charges on it. I thought they were different to what is on the actual annual rates notice.

So from what you are saying I have to pay everything on the annual Rates Bill, and everything on the Water Account (except for any water or sewerage disposal used on this account).

    Is that right?

Have just found this notice in the Age. Please take a look. Its about spam email from a couple of banks. Mine was from Westpac and the notice is about the National and others. The notice advises that if you have gone to any sites like these duds, then to change your password on your Real Bank Site immediately.

    HI
I have tried emailing the person that is supposed to be running this group a couple of times and have yet to get a response on where the group meets, dates and times.
Maybe they don’t want more people to attend.

    Cheers

I am not getting responses to my emails or my postings about where this group meets. So don’t expect an early reply.

    Searching & Editing
I would like to see a search function for the sub sections. If you have one now I obviously don’t use it, but I would if it was within a forum, as I don’t want to lose my place in the sub forum while searching all forums. Goodness can you understand that?? Also please leave the edit function for new posts. I have had to use it a couple of times and its terrific.

    Colours
I like the colours you have used on the screens, don’t change them. If you must change them please use soft colours as you do now, because it makes reading much easier than a lot of other ‘brightly coloured’ websites that I use.

    Group discussion/meetings
I would also like to see areas which could be setup for groups to have for their own discussions and for example to post their next group meetings with date/time place topics etc, so that others of us are able to book in and attend the meetings.

    Tradespeople/Bulk Discounts
Love the idea of having an area for users to post information about good experiences they have had with particular trades people/companies for each city/area, so we can give references for others to use. Also information about good bulk discount places for the purchase of building items for those of us who want to renovate without the huge expense.

    cheers

    Thanks Mortgage Advisor.

Can you believe I have been reading about this for a couple of years in preparation for the first purchase.

And here I am during the first purchase having freak outs about different aspects of what I have to sign and give to the different parties. Nothing like going through the experience of it. Although I am still glad I did the ‘learning from a book’ first.

    cheers

Can you put the time and place on here as I would have liked to come to the last meeting in Hawthorn. My email was unanswered, so if you advertise it here I could keep an eye on it.

    thanks

    Thanks everyone.
I am staggered by some of the wordings on these bank forms. To The Mortgage Advisor – how would using a broker help me any?? I still have to sign these forms don’t I???

Just another opinion. I found a house in Vic inner suburbs, nice house, reasonable price, had termites in recent times that had been dealt with. But anyone I talked to about it said they would never consider buying the place because of the termites. I think the word ‘termites’ throws a scare into anyone, and also me.

Sure I understand the situation can be fixed, however if you want to resell to those people looking for a long term residence you will probably face the same problem. So if you are going to purchase the house just bear in mind the opinion of your future buyers. On the other hand if you intend to keep the house for an IP and renter then maybe it would be okay because you can keep the situation under control yourself.

Can’t help but say it: find something better to do with your time. Maybe your over it !!!

Read the posts – some have hundreds of people reading them. It amazes me how many people use the site and read the posts in the forum.

I do agree there have been some pooper posts here, however I have been using the site for some time now, and find the forums terrific. Its just great for asking questions when you get stuck with a problem

And there is some very good advice from people who have done it and are happy to share their experience and knowledge with others. Even though some are touting for business, they still spend their time giving us the appropriate options and solutions to our questions, and sometimes the business that they are in does help some of us.

So keep it up everyone. Let’s keep this site alive and kicking. Ignore the knockers.
