hi, I am looking to buy PPOR in Melbourne east. My budget is around 700k. I cannot decide whether to buy a new off the plan townhouse ( house size 22 sq, land 290sq) with its own street frontage OR an old house (4/1/2) with decent land(land size 700sq). Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Thanks Scott, Bomberboy, Corey for your valuable insights. I looked into each of the factors mentioned over the weekend for e.g there is a continuous noise of exhaust fans coming when the aquatic center is in operation and also smell of chlorine coming occasionally.

Is it okay to buy a house near high power lines where houses are <400M from the high power lines.
We are about to go to buy a vacant land (Melbourne east) and looking on google maps the high power lines are very close to the house like 200M.
Any views feedback about potential risk to health or drawbacks is appreciated? Thanks.
