    Hi,

    Hope you guys can help.

ATM I'm organising my finance to purchase this IP with plans in the future to subdivde and build 2 town houses. I'm currently still trying to get grips on how trust will work for me.

My questions is, should I purchase the IP under our own names and if later on I decide to set up trust, I can subdivide the block and transfer the titles to the trust? Or would it be smarter to set up the trust now and purchase this property on the trust?

    Thanks in advance guys!

    Hi all,

In anandd case, I was just wondering if council's would approve a double story dwelling at the back of the existing front property which is a single story? Would there be overlooking issues?

    Cheers

    Hi Terryw,

Just had a quick question, are your assests fully protected under a trust if the marriage were to split and the your partners name was not in the trust? Or is it best to arrange a prenup/binding financial agreements aswell?

    Thanks

    Hi,

This might be a bit off the topic.

I am currently looking at selling my current property which I lived in and now the property is currently rented out. Once sold, Im looking at purchasing another property under a Family Trust instead. My question is, will I have to pay CGT coz of purchasing the new property under a Family Trust?

Now I might be exempted or discounted from CGT because my currently property is rented out under the 6 years period.

    Thanks all

thanks everyone for taking your time to provide very useful information. This is helping greatly.
Another question that we have came arcoss, are you able to lease or sell an existing property which say is located on the front of the block and in the process perform works on constructing dwellings at the rear?

Just regarding residential zoning, just wondering what the main differences are. is it best to find a property listed in zone 2? will I have difficulties if I found a property in the other zones? If I could get more clarification on this would be great.

    Thanks guys
