Like in all walks of life there will be good and bad. The same would hold true for Bird-dogging I guess.

However what I know is that Mini & Castledreamer are great people to do business with, and get my tick of approval after the several properties I’ve purchased via them.

Integrity certainly is their middle name.

    Hi Chris,

The trust is only a few months old and holds 3 properties, so I’m assuming there won’t be much of a tax problem. Becuase it’s currently an Australian Trust it is hard to borrow in NZ against the properties.

    Hi LifeX,

I’ve been a big fan of BT for many years. He has some fantastic material – well worth a read, particularly The Phoenix Workshop material.

Fan or not I’d do the reading before paying out $5K for any seminars.

    Hi XXX

I think it has a lot to offer, particularly if you’re thinking of NZ for investing. Cheap knowledge at that price.

Great story Leigh. We’re a little bit thrilled at the moment because we recently donated $5K to the IOM (International Organisation for Migration) so a family of 2 adults and 2 kids from Sudan (who have been given an immigration visa) can fly to Australia to start a new life and get out of a hell hole refugee camp in Sudan.

My wife (who is often my conscience) suggested we should help and although it left me a little short for one of my recent property purchases, like many Aussies we’ll get by ok and in the bigger picture it’s not really that much money, but to think we can make such a change to someones life in a practical way does excite us. They are due to arrive on August 17 so we’re looking forward to it very much.

The local Sudanese community in the western suburbs will be looking after them after they get here, so hopefully they’ll settle well and the memories of the terrible things happening in their homeland will fade.

It’s a wonderful thing having a succesful business and access to more money. While we’re a long way from being what many would call wealthy, we do think about how lucky we are to be living in this country and embracing it’s opportunities.

I read in the August edition of Money Magazine that Bill & Melinda Gates gave a charitable donation of $8,400,000,000.
And after hearing John Burley the other night talk about responsibility with charitable giving I take heart that there are many in the world exceedingly well off but also with a good heart.

Like they say “It’s round to make it go ’round”

Thanks Yack and Westan. I think the general idea of keeping the NZ finance separate has merit. Now I have the 3 freehold properties in NZ it should be fairly easy to leverage against them if I buy right.

It’s an intersting question this, if for no other reason than to make people think about WHY.

Freedom seems to be a common key in the responses. The opportunity to wake up tomorrow and not HAVE to go to a job is very desirable but it begs the question “what do you do then?” I could certainly lay on a beach for a while or have another holiday but in the end my conscience tells me I would have made it but there are others in the world not so fortunate. Yeah I own several houses but many in the world don’t own or have the chance to live in one.

SO I think (hope) that when lots of people on this forum do get to that magic financial independence, they think or ways they can ‘put back in’ for others not so fortunate on this planet. (And there is no shortage of causes to pursue).

I take you are joking Kev? As far as I’m concerned everything they’ve published has been great learning – including Fast Track 2 which I’ve listened to several times now. Just can’t wait for the NZ interview next week.

I may have to soon. I’ve given them til tomorrow to sort it out. I would have thought they just need the trustees as guarantors ??

Although I’m informed that plenty of others on this forum buy with Aus Property Trusts so I think the broker I’m dealing with is not very good.

I’m sure he’ll have a good time – especially if the result is right.

Thanks for your charitable donation – that’s the most important part. What do they say…A Win – Win for all !

Rugby Fan is you ever read any of his publications he goes to great lengths to quote the source of all his information, particularly articles publicly available in the press.

Gatsby I reckon you summed it up perfectly. I too play the tapes and CD’s in the car every now and them and find I refocus again. Far far better than listening to the crap on radio and a fantastic use of driving time from A to B.
