Thanks Kay, I really appreciate your detailed response, it was a great help. There’s only one problem though…

I’m 22 not 42 [blink], how did that happen, I never entered my age on the personal details bit, but anyway Kay you’re ahead of your time by 20 years, what are prices like in 2024?[tongue]

Good on him! [biggrin]Also what state are you in and what are the fees for moving a house $500 per kilometer etc. – I have no idea. I’ve got relly’s that are very interested in this method and your feedback would be great appreciated and immensely valuable. Thankyou. [thumbsupanim]

What a great post, I thinks it’s important to reconnect with all the fluffy stuff once in a while. You know “I’m a winner, I’m a winner”[thumbsupanim]

Thanks for your reply Melbear, but I’m not in that situation, I’m on my own, what do you and others reckon, buy PPOR and accumalate or rent and accumalate?

Thanks guys, I’ve found this a very interesting topic. But what about first timers, do you think it’s better to rent and gather IP’s, or buy your first home (PPOR) and then gather IP’s?

Ha ha, loved it. It reminds me of the many times I’ve been rushing to work at 100 miles per hour down the freeway because I’m late and I realised I’ve left the car at home.

Hey Foston, I also noticed those flashy cars, did you also see the huge DVD collection aswell?

Ignorance and stupidity is no excuse for financial hardship anymore, it’s the 21st century.

Stay up all night drinking and dont sleep. Just have a quick nap the next afternoon if needed and a normal nights sleep the next night. You can never wake up to a hangover if you’ve never been to sleep! [sleepyanim]=[sick3]

Why dont you rent for 6 months and see where the market goes? You sound like you’ve got lots of money to invest, why dont you sit on it and wait and see what happens?
Rents are low, gives you time to think, and a $300k house could be snapped up for $250 by the time your lease expires?

    Hope this helps G7 [eh]

I never use layby, if I want it I buy it right then and there on the plastic fantastic.
However, I wouldn’t pay for something that would not be easy to pay off quickly, I’m very bad debt-adverse. I always sleep on my big purchases and think them thru, but I dont think it matters what method you use, so long as you dont dig yourself a financial hole!

    Hope this helps- G7

    Hey everyone,
It’s nearly been a week smoke free and I feel a hell of a lot richer, thanks for all your replies, it’s a great support, not only for me but probably others aswell.
It’s obviously not easy and it’s not over yet, but to all those thinking of quitting, keep persisting because it’s well worth it. I’ll keep you informed and you do the same, we are in this together!

Hey I heard off a paramedic that thickshakes from McDonalds are in fact whipped chicken fat.
This happened because he responded to a young boy who had collapsed after having one. With all food poisoning cases the ambo must take a sample of the food they ate for testing.
He found out that it was made from the chicken fat and that the young boy was actually allergic to poultry products! [sick3]

    Hi guys,
Thanks for your support and encouragement, today is going good, I usually fall over at about day 3 or 4. I have quit before and know how good it feels, especially in the wallet region!

I’m really determined to do it this time, my mum went blind at 45, and we only found out a few years ago that smoking significantly brings forth this condition, which usually happens to people in their 70’s.

Anyway I’ll keep going and thanks all, I appreciate your posts immensely[biggrin] G7
