    Hi,

I have dealt with Summit Group on a single house  but from the discussions I had with my rep, Summit Developments are involved in multi-unit developments and other similar projects.

Hope this will help and good luck.

    Hi Thanh,

I have noted that Derek and others have pretty much answered your questions. Education is the Key to successful investment. I have 2 IPs in Perth in the Canning Vale area. The area grew rapidly the past 3-5 year but has now slowed down. Good research will give you an idea of which areas to invest in.

Before you buy, decide what type of property you need, the area you want and the potential market in that area.

Hope this will be helpful in your search.

    Hi V,

I came accross a duplex in Perth (Kewdale Area) last year…pretty cheap at $299K. As I did my DD, I realised that there may be restrctions on the property. Any development you may have to make depends on the agreement with the co-orners. The specific one in Kewdale could not be subdivided easily.

I would suggest you enquire with the Council (not the Agent) about the conditions for sub-division, redevelopment etc. Different council may have different rules.

    Thanks
    Ely

    Hi Wade.

I'm an accountant and I know that you can claim the interest on the investment loan obtained to purchase land to be used for investment purposes. However, as you do not intend to build the propery immediately, I would suggest you contact the ATO for clarification; in theory, the interest on the investment loan can be claimed.

I did claim interest incurred on the loan to purchase land though the house was under contruction, but not completed.
