Wow the two big cats in the same cage! (no offense meant) My mum and my MIL didn't meet until the wedding and even then it was a hi/bye lol. They very rarely see each other now. I think they would cage match it if left alone together for too long, as they are sooo different! Shh don't tell anyone I said that lol! Good on ya TroodyG and all the…[Read more]
I hear you all on the being away from your kids thing. It has been a very long time for us. Little nervous and hoping that my sister in law (first 2 days) and mum and dad (the last day) can pull it off! I hope everyone's sitting system works out! It'll be great just to spend three days learning and packing our brains with info Can't wait!D
I don't think anyone realised that a flood of people would come to stash their cash here. I think KRudd has even been taken by surprise. Anyone wanna put a bet on whether this policy is his downfall in the next election? Most Aussies are pretty emotional when it comes to land, house, affordability. D
This is why it is so important for people to give other perspectives on property. It is very easy to live in a vacuum here with limited (soon to be more limited) information on other markets and what happens in other countries. It is great when people like you two GOM and FWord can give us your perspective and stop ordinarily bullish people like…[Read more]
Gah, I'm just having a bad money day! Today in the FR there was an article about people in China buying apts. There were approx 12,000 buyers for 100 odd apts. Makes 100 people at a Sat open look tame! At least if you are competing here it is only with 5 people maybe 10 not 12,000!Gotta put it all in perspective, very easy to take the emotional…[Read more]
The only problem is if you actually want to live in one of these areas as an Aussie. Bully for you. I personally would like to live where I live but wont have much chance of even renting here soon. Guess it is my bad luck for being a citizen of this country. Thanks Kaptain KRUDD. He should give other political leaders tips on how to sell the…[Read more]
Good points Wealth, better go get my FR outta the driveway! I have had my rant on anther thread on this issue. Time for everyone to start really watching this (if they haven't already been).D
Duckster, it is sad to think that greed will win the day…especially this weekend. I saw a snippet on aca or tt (and yes i know it isn't the most accurate journalism) and they highlighted the fact that many higher end properties in good locations were bought by foreign owners who have never lived in them. These properties have been vacant since…[Read more]
So I will be totally optimistic about this three days of info. If I can't find one tip or whatever that is worth the $500 I'll be surprised. Come on Wealthy come to Sunny Melbourne (lol) and enjoy the hype. I'll bring my checkbook and we can spend all our money on spruiked up wares and hats that say "world's greatest property investor"! Funny Ben!…[Read more]
! I can't even shop! Gah! Miscommunication between us and architect means that strata titling on units will take another couple months. Do not want to cross colateralise so have to do my time. At least I wasn't selling, good thing to learn a lesson on this one. Good on you for running a mile from a dud. (or a renovators delight lol). Melbourne is…[Read more]
Aww Sonya, not coming? Boo! Eventually when I am in your state we have to catch up to trade tales! I'll bet you a $10 that you can't record anything or photograph!D
Plenty of CF+ properties in regional areas for under 200k. If you are looking at 4 years + you should see a decent capital gain on a house in that time. Plus as Richard has said a million times you can leverage a lot higher on a house than one of these duds. D
Hm! Good to know. If Carl door knocks someone, even if he has used RP data to source the property, to try and get options etc is that still a breach? Or are we bordering on a criminal gray area? D
Hi Dave,It is really worth doing! You need to do as much research as possible before you even start looking at anything. This research involves picking an area for instance and then "crunching the numbers". Nobody develops for free, so you need to make sure that the area you pick has a easy chance of developing, inexpensive building and easy,…[Read more]
