    Thanks SIS,

Yeah, I get it. I just have to work out how to do it! I have so many things running through my head at night these days my eyes just don’t want to close!

    Thanks for your reply.

    AHHhhh!

    Nice one Redwing!

BTW, if you like champagne, (who doesn’t), give Lindauer Fraise a try. Don’t be put off by the fact it has has a hint of strawberry. This stuff is no Passion Pop! We love it!

    Thanks Redwing (very sheepishly),

Now I’m LOL’ing all over the place!

But I feel so hip! I feel so with the “in” crowd! I’ve made it at last!

Maybe not? Well, at least now I know what’s happening some of the time!

    Congrats SIS!

I always look forward to what you have to say! And must say, I’m very envious of your mind for figures. (And everyone else’s too BTW!) Quite often, I’m lucky to fit 2 figures in there at the same time! Not a great start for a future property investing magnate!! Ha Ha! But nothing like a bit of practice I guess.

Yes, I’m asking more questions but……. Now that you’ve reached this point in your investing interests, I’d love to know what are the 2 most important things you’ve found out about investing in property?

Thanks as always and well done!

    Cheers

    Loud applause Del!

Thanks for taking the time to think about that. The stuff I learn on the forum from you and others is really just invaluable. People don’t seem to mind what you ask as long as you are genuine, (and not asking for locations of +ve CF Props!) Just about everyone seems to get encouraging and frank replies. It’s great to get feedback from every side of a the multi-sided fence.

Not only am I new to investing but also to the whole email forum/chat thing. I just don’t have the lingo down yet. There’s something I am missing. Del, in the light of your Words of Wisdom about asking questions and at the considerable risk of looking completely dumb, I just have to ask this question!! Could someone please tell me what LOL means! It’s driving me crazy!

    Lots of Laughs?
    Lots Of Luck?
    Long Ostrich Legs?
    Leotards On Leopards?
    Limited Orange Lipstick?
    Lost Our Leader?
    Lunch of Lager?
    Legs of Licorice?
    Loitering Oldies Legal?
    Lizards on Lounges?
    Lick Our Lollipop?
    Lobsters Only Laundromat?
    HHMMmm?

What is it short for? Please!

    Congratulations Del!

And now for your speech….. What are the 2 most valuable things you have learned from the forum?

Thanks for all your useful posts!

    TRAVEL! TRAVEL! TRAVEL!

Bigben, if you can have the best of both worlds – you already have some IP’s and can afford to travel too – what are you waiting for?

My guess is that you will have many years to invest but you may not always have the chance to travel. Personally it’s just about my favourite thing to do. I’d jump at half a chance for a year OS! I’ve been lucky enough to have had several trips travelling to amazing places and meeting incredible people, the longest being 6 months. Not long enough!!

So pack your bag and take off! I’m very jealous by the way. With a bit of luck I might get 4 weeks around September. Sigh…..September seems so far away!

Have you thought about where you will go? (Sorry, can’t help myself!)

    Cheers

The electrician I had around today commented on Western Power. Very simple. It’s private enterprise! Govt funded electricity can plan years ahead and run at a loss for a while after a big injection of funds to cope with future demand. Private enterprise just doesn’t have that sort of budget! Or strategy!

Go solar! Go wind power! Sell back to the grid! Be self reliant! Or perhaps go for a swim!

    Hi georgisj,

We don’t have a set figure in mind as far as net worth is concerned. (I think by the time I reach such a goal, it may only buy me movie tickets and a box of popcorn!) We do however have a passive income goal, which I imagine it will be continually increased, to keep up with CPI or any increases in income we are looking for. If your investing strategy is to create passive income through buy and hold +ve CF properties, wouldn’t you be less focussed on your net worth than on the income derived from your IP’s?

Our goals are probably a bit like others here in that we would like to maintain or marginally increase our of standard of living, while having the option to work in paid employment if we so choose. HA! I have so many personal goals though that I really think it may be hard to fit “work” in!! Spending time with the people who are most important, is the most important.

I agree, Westan and Elves – money’s certainly not everything. The best things in life ARE free….you just need money for all the other things!! The sunset over the Nile River is free every day. You just have to get there to see it! Not so free!!

Having money to travel is definately a priority for me! If I could just find a way of becoming a professional traveller I’d be set!!

Sorry you’re a little sad at the moment SIS. You seem to do lots of helpful things for others. This can be a good way to keep you mentally and physically occupied! You also seem to have lots of amazing wealth creation skills. Maybe there’s a way for you to actively share that with others (other than your generous contributions to this forum!). I’m not quite sure even what I mean. But perhaps developing some sort of community project you can work on. Just an idea!

Oh well Chan$! I’ll just wait patiently! Winter is coming and I don’t mind a hot spa!

But the good news is the electrician installed the ceiling fans this morning! Hooray! The bad news is that the one installed in our bedroom doesn’t work and of course means that the place where we bought it has to find someone come out and replace it! But when!! Oh well. At least it’s cloudy and LOTS cooler today!

    Thanks austini,

While I know mistakes going to happen sometime, I’m keen to learn from the mistakes of others where ever possible. Life’s too short to make all the mistakes yourself! I haven’t spent amuch time on Somersoft Forums yet but am keen to get into it!

    Hi Yack,

Saw “Ordinary Millionaires” in the bookshop yesterday. Would love to read your review! Thanks!

    Redwing,

You guys have had it hot over there too!

I’ve developed some strange fears from the heat too…. But we wont go there! Just to get our mind on something cool… I have a fear of cars with metal handles in Winter. Static electricity loves me. On windy winter days I can get zapped getting into the car up to my elbow or sometimes my shoulder. Ouch! MMmm, the static thing makes me a bit nervous now I think about it as I tap away with my sweaty paws on this keyboard! If you never hear from me again, assume I’ve been Zapped!

BTW, you gotta love Robin Williams in GM Vietnam. Good CD too!

    Bear ,

Hopefully it won’t be long before the plumber can do his thing. It’s hard to knock the rain though. We could do with some more too. I don’t have an atlas handy to know exactly where you are in South Australia. But from what I hear about SA generally, you are fully entitled to very cold and very hot water! Hope you get to enjoy it! With all those kids you’d be lucky to even see the bathroom!

    Pisces,

I think the shoes will have to go on the wishlist for now along with those cool little motorised sets of wheels, I don’t know what you call them. The ones with that “Back to the Future” look, that have 2 wheels beside each other, a little platform to stand on and a set of handle bars. I think when you lean forwards they go. They look tricky to drive but have some type of balancing thing built in and are apparently really hard to fall off! FUN! Do you get to see those around your part of the world?

    Cheers
