It is resort style, and beach side.

If you are hiring an RV, don’t forget the costs of a pitch for the night, unless you are going to sleep at the side of the road. Also, the fuel costs will be much higher, depends how far you are planning to travel.

It was about how, legally, a corporation is treated as an individual, it has the same legal rights as a human individual.

Going on from this, they ran a mental health questionnaire, to discover the personality of ‘The Corporation’. Unfortunately for the planet, the personality of the corporation, is PSYCHOPATH!!!

The mental health questionairre wasn’t done on an individual corporation, just a mash of lots, with lots of horrifying examples of behaviour.

    Quite alarming, but fascinating.

Sorry, I have just re-read your initial post, and you say why do they stick with it AFTER they have been made aware it’s a lousy deal. Not so sure about that – Laziness??

My guess would be ignorance. I read somewhere that a large proportion of the population could not even tell you what interest rate they were paying. So how would they know if they had a good deal or not?

I have to admit that I fell into that category until a few months back. We strugled to get our low doc loan last year, because we were new immigrants, and ended up taking the only loan we were offered. We knew it was a lousy deal, but the only one available at the time. The mortgage has hefty break costs, which had put us off re-financing. But now I have begun my financial education, I can see better ways of doing things, and the first thing is to re-finance.

So my excuse was ignorance, but I think there are many, many people out there just like I was!

    Mortgage Advisor,
You said “You do not need to invest only where you live. I am fortunate because I can buy properties sight unseen if the numbers are right. A lot of people can’t do this.”

What do you mean by this? Why can’t anyone buy sight unseen? It’s not something that I have done, but it is something I am considering. Am I missing something?

Maybe Elle liked it so much she stayed!

    Hi,

We are tenants with a pool, and wish our landlord took an interest.

It is our responsibility to maintain the pool, fair enough, but we don’t have the tools to do it with. We have no hoover attachment, so it is impossible to get all the crap off the bottom of the pool. We have asked the owner, and he said we didn’t need anything else. We haven’t had a pool before, so we didn’t know any better. So for the last few weeks we have had an unappealing green pool, in spite of maintaining chemical levels, and regular testing and advice from the pool shop.

We vowed to approach the owner agian, but it is actually his dad’s house (he was in care), but he died at the weekend, so it is not a good time for demands.

BTW, my kids swim in this green water all the time, can they really get horrible diseases??[blink]

That sounds OK to be, but I am no expert. We had one IP, and then moved out of our PPOR, and rented it out too! We got a tenant within 1 week, which was marvellous ( in Sept). Our properties are in Perth. Where are you to have such a seasonal population, or is it the property type that makes it seasonal?

    Hi,

Please be patient with me, as a newbie, and yes, I do know about the search function!

We have 2 properties, and are looking at buying another. They are in our joint names, which we are now thinking is probably not the best way to go, so want to get organised before we buy the 3rd property. Could someone please outline the benefits and drawbacks of setting up a company or a trust, and using it to buy. I’m just wanting the big picture, I don’t expect you guys to give me all the details.

    Thanks very much.
