Have to say it doesn’t always work though.

I have > $500K worth of loans with 1 bank and I threatened to leave if they don’t match a competitor’s rate.

But they took me up on it and said there was no way they could match it.

So I guess the moral of the story is that you have to be able to carry out your threats or else they’ll just be empty ones.

    You can try http://www.cgu.com.au

Personally I am surprised you have not heard of it from your lender.

When I get my loans from the bank, they never fail to offer me their other products as well like LL ins, free Financial planning, etc.

Guess your loan officer must be feeling lazy during your loan proces .. [suave3]

    Spot on, wayne !
They either come with 2 – 4 heater globes but 2 is more than enough for most bathrooms.

    Steve,

Guess its fitting that you have the honor of my 100th post on this forum !! … [biggrin]

+ve : I love the wording of the cover. It makes a bold statement, high impact and makes you wanna pick it up.

-ve : Hate the photo ! It makes the cover look really cheesy. The first book on the other hand was much more classier. Thousand apologies if you are offended, but just my humble opinion.

Suggestion: This is a thought for a back cover. I have looked at many get-rich-quick books with similiar titles and they generally lead you down a path where you own $1m worth of property but have $1m (or more) worth of debt.
Maybe you can put something in the back (or squeeze in the front) differenting your concepts from the others.

Hope you find my comments useful … [cap]

One of the things I look out for is a bathroom heater. I can’t understand how someone can live comfortably w/o one unless they don’t take showers during winter !

I used to rent in an apartment w/o one and I bought a portable electric heater in with me everytime I took a shower. Dangerous I know but still better than freezing to death !

I like to torture myself administratively so I have an offset account for each mortgage. Incomes and expenses for each IP goes thru’ the relevant offset account.

This way I can see clearly how it is going easily and the ingoing/outgoings for each property.

You could say its something like a company with departmental cashflow statements.

I just got quoted $550 for a Building Inspection. Is that a bit overpriced ?

Wow, I did not know that it has to be deducted from the base regardless of whether you claim it or not. That doesn’t sound very fair at all.

You could consider selling your current home and negotiating with the new owner to rent it for the short term while you search for your new dream home.

From the looks of it, I think if you factor in the rent, you’ll find you are well ahead.

All this asbestos / fibro thing is new to me. But when I go to the rural areas, I noticed that many houses have something which looks like colorbond sheeting on the exterior of the house. There are also some houses with a cardboard like covering which looks like bricks from far.

Does any of these have asbestos ?
