    Hi
In Brisbane what is the requirement if you would like to remove a half metre of asbestos?  Is it possible to remove an asbestos roof and dispose of yourself?

    Thanks for your help.

I have thought of the same investment.  I like the fundamental idea of getting a house at a low cost on a piece of dirt to sell off at a healthy profit.  Around $50,000 will get you a home delivered and stumped around Brisbane.  Unknown is all other expenses such as fees , plumbing electrical etc.

At the end of the job you are selling a second hand house as appose to a brand new house.  It will take longer to renovate the property as well – downtime can be expensive with many unknown costs.

Keep the expenses down and research what the property is going to sell for at the end of it all.  It might be less hassle to subdivide and sell the land – let someone else worry about it all???

    Good luck!!!!

    BOOM OR NOT?
ARE YOU INVESTING IN THE HOPE OF CAPITAL GROWTH?
I HOPE THAT IS NOT YOUR ONLY STRATEGY……
    SUPPLY DEMAND……
DO NOT LISTEN TO BANKS OR AGENTS….
    BUY AT THE RIGHT PRICE…..
    YOU SHOULD KNOW BETTER….

IF MY PROPERTY BOOMS AND TRIPLES IN VALUE WHAT HAPPENS?  DEMAND IS HIGH BECAUSE OF THE BOOM, PROPERTY'S HAVE ALL TRIPLED, TAXES ARE HIGHER…  IS A BOOM THE BEST WAY TO PROFIT FROM PROPERTY?  IF THE MARKET STAYS THE SAME AND YOU BUY AND SELL MAKING A REASONABLE MARGIN CAN YOU MAKE MORE MONEY???

    HAPPY HUNTING FELLOW INVESTORS……

A PERSON WHO IS NEVER WRONG MAKES NO DECISIONS……

It dose not matter what the market is doing you can always make money in real estate.
The key is buy at wholesale or at the right price!!!  If the market value is $220,000 how do you get it for $195,000???
I always buy at the right price – do not rely 100% on capital gain (growth)…

    good luck…

Multi layered paint can be removed using a product called peelaway.  It is a slow acting stripper that is applied as a thick layer and covered with a special laminate paper.  I used this product to strip a hardwood floor in Chermside because the nails could not be punched and sanding could not be carried  out.  The other alternative is using a mdf  VJ look alike board and resurfacing the walls.

Another point is the original paint may contain lead and you would have to follow the appropriate method of removal to local Govt specification.

The best way to paint VJ walls is with a roller, start from near the bottom and slowly push the roller up the wall spreading the paint out. If you place a loaded roller on at the top of the wall the paint will drip allover the ground below.

    Good luck…
