Count me in. I assume by the comments posted thus far, there are networks functioning on the east coast. How do these work? Besides a person(s) to coordinate the effort what else is required to make one successful?

I have been following this thread with great interest as I learn more about the “art” of investing in real estate. I think I have followed this through successfully but if you could make a new thread and walk through the example again with the original numbers and final correct calculation formula I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance,

I too am looking for a positively geared opportunity in Perth. I haven’t done any serious hunting as yet, but from what I have seen so far, it seems rents are quite low as compared to purchase prices, especially for single houses. Can looking for a positively geared oppotunity drive you to purcahse a specific type of buidling (i.e. flat as…[Read more]

Thanks for the overwhelming consensus. While I want as much feedback from this forum as possible (and I am amazed at how much information there is here) I still want to have an accountant cross the t’s and dot the i’s and help with our specific case.

We are in Perth – can anyone recommend a good accountant?

Thanks.

Thanks for the advice. We do have an accountant which I intend to run all scenarios past. As you suggest I am looking for all possible strategies so we can weigh the pros and cons.

Are there any other strategies we should consider – that is ther than depositing the $50k into our home mortgage and then redrawing it?
