I use a handful, can’t beat meeting face to face.

I am an investor that went deep into the mindset rabbit hole. Now I coach some traders/businessowners/freelancers and the best place to meet them is face to face. Still, use several meetups and websites to bring in leads/participants.

On the surface level anyone can make $ easily, the same way anyone can make money with property…… so some of the books people say, on a deeper level, a hell of a lot more learning to make $ from on online business/SM than people think.

I’ve done a little in this area. Michael, $1000 is a good start for saving. I would want to see more like 5% of the total price. Eg. I have a house to sell under VF terms, 200k, I want 10k deposit. 1K is far too small or did we get something wrong?

    Oh guys. It was Epic!!!
Word around the audiance was pretty spectacular. All participants were easy going, approachable, interesting. All the speakers high class. Steve was mindblowing, caring, and energetic.

Personally, much of it may have been to abstract rather than into specifics. Still my buddies that went and I are all into full-time investing/business building and we all got a lot out of it still. By being in the presence of Steve (and speakers) who focused on the big picture for 3 days. Still got a fair bit out of it. Wife, daughter and I flew down from Townsville for it and it was my wife’s first event like this. Really opened her eyes to crunching numbers (and why Im using excell so much). She loved Lisa McInnes-Smith most. I like seeing Steve and Daniel Flynn (Thankyou Water) blew me away https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yx44cXeKC7s&t=5s

Ticket Refund I gave away on the spot to http://www.pingpongathon.com Could have got my money back but got so moved by this cause and the awesomeness of the event Happily gave that away and bought 4 of Daniel Flynns books.

So I guess you could say it was definitely worth the flights, hotel, travel, time off. Whenever I’m in Australia and it’s on, I’ll be flying down.

I thought hoping wishing and praying would have a category all on it’s own!

Actually hoping to meet a few people interested in Vendor Finance in North Queensland. There were a few doing it up here before. If a few investors get together it could be a good strategy in the NQLD Market.

In negotiations, when people get stuck, ask question that make people think up on a higher or more abstract level (we call this Chunking up). Example; what for, whats the purpose of that.
“Whats the real reason for selling both blocks together now?”

If they want to sell it all together for security, how else can you make them secure?
If they want to sell it all so they no longer have to worry about, how can you accommodate that?
If they need the money, how much money do they actually need and when? how can you accommodate that?

Guessing, your purpose is to make money, so how can you make money and satisfy their higher purpose too.

Speak with your tenants directly. See if you can strike up a win win deal with them to boost the rent in exchange for…..

$10 a week and we will have a professional gardener come in every month…
$xx and we could install an airconditioner in that other room…
$xx and we will buy an outdoor fridge and BBQ….

Hi Curtis, what you may want mate is a an investor to send you their excel spreadsheets that they use to work all this out.
I made simple ones and actually picked up a book on financial planning when I started work, then created excel spreadsheets to measure my wealth which I’ve kind of done on a monthly basis ever since.
    Happy to send you mine.
Around 2013 a mate and investor here Mike showed me his excel spreadsheets and it blew me away! His were so dynamic and advanced. Perhaps someone better than me could share theirs?

    Hi Merlinn,
Great to see you here. As for your post, not quiet sure why you haven’t gotten good replies yet however it could be due to a lack of detail. To make suggestions there are a lot of grey areas. Firstly, what are you investing for? What are your goals? Why property?

Generally big picture questions, then later getting more specific.

oh ship. Yeah so human nature, laws of comparison in effect, supply and demand. Perhaps dubious Influence techniques, pre-framing, embedded commands, social proof from other people that paid way too much and the like. It happens. Often..

I found it strange years ago when I heard the story of a friend doubling his rates for fixing computers. He lost

      almost

    half of his customers……..

As someone pointed out, with supply and demand right, there are some natural laws in effect and some persuasion to get the odds happening on their side.

Eben Pagen, Yannick Silver and many high level ‘Master Mind’ groups also charge outrageous amounts. Just imagine what kind of people are in those groups….. food for thought.
(More and more reason why I love Steve McKnight too)

    Deep breath in…..Deep breath out.
You know the thing that kept me here and what I love most about this forum, is how we can be upfront, honest, we can be with our wins, losses, thoughts, stresses and all that.
I kinda semi or fully retired in 2009, 28yrs old. After a few years backpacking I wondered what I would do next. I started this NLP Coaching thing, but it wasn’t going so well, luckily the stock market was recovering so it was easy to create $ off Stock Options. Anyhow on a trip back to Australia I met my cousin and told him about Tim Ferris 4HWW. My cousin was running a IT Business in Gold Coast. 6 months later he had employed 18 staff and was saving his company $16,000 a month. I had already been to and decided to return to Philippines to check out creating a Outsourcing center. I already knew a Lawyer but met him again. Got the low down recorded onto .mp3. Like most developing countries, and like Thailand, need a few thousand in the bank. Philippines were like 25% of 25% of a million pesos. Something like that. 5k – 10k Aussie. Lots of rules about 50% ownership, can get around it. Need 50% on the board to be Pinoy, but can get around it. Can buy people that are silent partners as well. Can charge Australian and International Businesses and that money is tax free as it is foriegn money coming into Phillipines. Can easily pick up local talent and with training sell them off internationally or capitalise on their talents, pick up jobs taking small buisnesses to scaleable/saleable. Was really interesting and exciting.
I recruited some staff, found offices right near Ayala, networked a bit but eventually we didn’t go through with it. the 2012-2013 down turn in Australian economy, becoming to popular, BPO’s (business processing outsource) recruit from shopping centers, (sunday morning people go to Ayala mall, come out of a theatre which doubles as a church, eat bbq sanilog and pass recruiters offering up to $2-14 an hour.) Business/ROI wise it can work, however you need partners that can get your company the clients in Australia or parts of the world like Scandanavia.

I actually have a Outsourcing Guide book made, I’ll happily share with PI members or sell on Amazon later.
Or more stories about Philippines outsourcing here http://adriancahill.com/outsourcing/saving-by-hiring-virtual-assistant/

Ivan, I just visit Cebu & Bohol occasionally. In Townsville now, renovating, then back to Shanghai.

Zyrine69, Love to see an update on your hunt. an Dimple, could you share your numbers.

Personally, I would love to buy house and land on Palawan. Or if I was a young tech savy eager Entrepreneur, I would be tempted to run an Outsource center in Cebu with 2 apartments in Ayala.

Riky, I would love to see a post on your thoughts about HK/Indo/CN. I live in Shanghai half the year, Australia the rest. Watching HK on the news a lot. I actually really like the Chinese Government. Not necessarily everything they do however they do a lot of things with more regard to long term, and greater population, then the Australian Governments focus on.. What we see on our news is often so biased.

Depends on your situation. Mainly with Tax and your vision/road map. Really can’t say cause it’s so dependent on all the untold factors.

    A bit late,
A Collaboration from my work and a story from Dr John Gray (Men are from Mars).
He has a great talk where he says were taught to be nice guys, and nice happy guys open doors first. Be good and open the door and let people in first, don’t rush. Let them go in first and let them take what you want. Then thank them for it. Turn the other cheek and let them do it again.
While its been proven that successful people (on the outside/material sense) walk faster. For success they are taught or learn, to GO GET WHAT THEY WANT.

In the past (and a lot of the world still today) the poor are happy and together. The rich are powerful and unloved.
Being Happy on the inside and Successful on the outside is a great challenge but it is possible. In 2014 it’s even more possible.

I believe Nice Guys can finish first, but it’s unlikely.
Knowing what I know now, I would aim to finish doing my best, and achieving small milestones of success and happiness regularly.

I have a place in NQ as well, so do some friends. Our costs are rising but far less than the ‘resort’ style complex’s. While I can’t compare NQ to Sydney, as Richard or Corey said, your paying so much for the Gym, Spa, Sauna…….

We did reduce ours recently though. A owner is now doing most of the maintenance and doing a far better job which in turn reduces repair/replacement bills.
