    I’m in Mornington VIC and our costs going solo were around 15K. You’d expect to pay a premium when there is no risk i suppose. But it’s all about risk and return, sound like a good deal to me, get it approved or no payment. A nice safe way to learn.

    In my opinion, get on your local council website and learn as much as you personally can about their rules and reg’s etc.. The greatest help i’ve had recently came from a builder who specializes in my particular area.     We just finished our 3×1 that we bought for $255 Oct 2008 at the depth of the GFC and we just received approval for subdivision and the build of a 3 x 2.

    All helps when you know where to find cheap appliances, basins and vanities etc.
