I recently had a small plumbing issue at home — a leaky tap and a blocked drain — and I was thinking of booking someone through Service Tasker or Service Seeking instead of searching for a plumber the traditional way. These platforms look convenient since you can compare quotes and reviews quickly, but I’m not sure how reliable they really are when it comes to quality and punctuality.

Has anyone here actually used either of these platforms for plumbing services? For example, did the plumber show up on time, fix the issue properly, and charge a fair rate? Just trying to figure out if it’s worth using these apps or if I should stick with hiring a local plumber directly.

I’ve used ServiceTasker a couple of times for plumbing jobs and had a pretty solid experience. The big win is transparency — you can compare quotes, check reviews, and see how active a tradie is before booking. Both times the plumbers showed up on time, explained the issue clearly, and charged exactly what they quoted. Like any platform, there are hit-and-miss operators, so pick someone with strong recent reviews. For simple jobs like leaks or blockages, it’s definitely worth trying.
