All Topics / Help Needed! / Buying PPR In Wife’s Name
Hi guys,
I’ve recently sold my first property and no longer have any mortgages or personal loans in my name, my wife and I want to buy our family home and I’ve been reading into different strategies to buy the property, my wife does not work at the moment as we’re expecting a baby and doesn’t receive any income from elsewhere. I work full time and earn about 160k a year
I really want to go down the trust investment property route in the future where I can have the uncapped borrowing capacity and don’t have any loans in my personal name.
Will the banks grant the loan to my wife as she would own the property and I just guarantee the loan even though she does not earn any money? Is this the best strategy for our future investing plans?it could be possible where you are both borrowers or you are a guarantor. but it is generally not like by the banks, especially with a main residence, as you are liable but not getting any benefit from the loan.
