A Melbourne buyer bought a Balnarring property for $6.25m in 48hrs (the highest sale in the suburb). The property had 8 interested buyers.

It took just 48 hours after the first inspection for a Melbourne buyer to snap up one of Australia’s most viewed recent listings.

The charming and luxurious 230 Myers Rd, Balnarring estate on the Mornington Peninsula fetched $6.25 million for a new suburb record.

The January 15 sale was almost $3 million more than the previous record price of $3.354 million for 2914A Frankston-Flinders Rd last March, sales records show.

The property spreads across more than 3ha.

“There were eight interested parties for the exceptional property after the first inspection and the vendor was happy to accept the very strong offer,” Aqua Real Estate director Michelle Skoglund said.

The buyers had been looking for a long time to own an acreage on the peninsula.

The 3.12ha property with a blend of American farmstead and Hamptons-inspired style was the most viewed listing in Australia for the final week of 2018 on realestate.com.au.

The indoor spaces flow outside with ease.

“This is a quality acreage and there are not too many similar listings in the tightly held suburb,” Ms Skoglund said.

“Its location is very sought after.”

The home had its first inspection on January 5, with many potential buyers keen to inspect it prior.

The four-bedroom, five-bathroom property was expected to sell for more than $6 million.

Just two years old, it offered a huge main house with a pool house, pool, spa, fire pit and extensive horse facilities.

Soaring ceiling heights feature in the main open-plan living zone, with stonework and American oak timber flooring also delivering a deluxe Hamptons touch.
