    What is everyones opinion on an off the plan apartment in Wickham for an IP? We have been looking at a 2 bed 2 bath 1 car 1 storage in the mid $500’s.

    Cons: Lots of apartments going up in Wickham in the next few years.

    Pros: Walking distance to Honeysuckle, Uni, Cafes. Bike to beaches, Darby street. Close to train, light rail (when complete) & bus terminal (when complete).

    I know there has been a lot of discussion about a down turn in the market in Newcastle and most likely apartments would suffer first. But it seems for the money we have for an IP we have the option Wickham (off the plan apartment) or Cardiff / Glendale house (with some work needed). I know if I personally was looking for somewhere to rent I would prefer to be renting as close to the city as possible, mostly for the lifestyle and as a young professional my work and most likely any other future work opportunities are in the CBD
