If one was to sell a house that had the fake plastic weatherboard cladding.
And real actual weatherboards are underneath, should one spend the money to remove the cladding and fix / paint the weatherboards underneath…
How much more value would real weatherboards add to a properties sales price vs fake plastic cladding.

Very generic answer – whatever creates the most value – but I guess that is what you are asking. See what others houses in the area are selling for with cladding vs weatherboard. I know most people when doing renovations look at a return of $1 spent to return $2-3 so maybe weigh that up in terms of cost of restoring weatherboard.

Hi, personally I think they are butt ugly and devalue the look of the house. Some people may say yay no maintenance, others will say looks cheap and what are they hiding underneath?
I guess it also depends on the type of house and which area it’s in, if it’s a cheap house in a cheap area probably wouldn’t be worth while, but if it’s a nice period home in a decent area then you are doing the house no justice leaving them on .Pat | 24 Hour Property Services
