Hi all, first time poster here. I hope this is in the right section.

I’ve recently sparked an interest in property investment and after reading Steve’s first book – I’m officially on the bandwagon.

While I still consider myself well in the early stages of investing (finding that right location and saving my deposit), I’m just curious as to how people have discovered/researched upcoming council development such as new roads, schools, public transport etc.
I’ve jumped onto a few regional council websites and seem to be struggling to find any information that might be of help.

Thoughts? Ideas? Experiences? I’m open to all and look forward to hearing from you.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Lloydy

    Welcome to the forum.

The council websites are a good place to have a look first. However the regional ones sometimes don’t have much information.

I would personally call them up or visit them in person and ask them. You can get a lot of info over the phone. Try to get hold of one of their town planners. They should be able to get you all the information you need.

    Look at the following:
    1) council web page may provide up comming developments
    2) abs web site
    3) Google there is heaps of info out there, some news helpful and some misleading.
    4) call the council – you will be surprised hoe much info you can get.

Hey guys, thanks for your help.

I currently reside in WA, Rockingham – but originally from Newcastle, NSW. Next year I’m off to the NT, Darwin.

Thanks heaps for all your resources – time to making some trips and phone calls.
