    Dear all,

I have been introduced to the "Travel Hacking" concept by a friend yesterday. Then I googled it and realized its about applying for credit cards or buying things (which earns) credit card and then return it once the frequent flyer points have been credited to your account (I think this is just one of the many ways). In the US, many travel hackers will apply multiple credit cards and then after they got the sign-on bonus, they will cancel the card. My question is that I were to replicate such model in Australia, would it affect my credit score and hence adversely affect my application for home loans in the future cos whenever I apply for a new credit card, the issuer will do a credit check on me? Apparently applying for credit card and then cancelling it doesn't affect a person's credit score in US but I am not sure whether the same goes for Australia?

    Your opinion is much appreciated.

    Cheers

    John
