    Hi all

Would welcome your help on this.  I have a small two bedroom duplex which has happily been rented by the same family with two young children for the last five years.

Unfortunately the kids are a little hard on the place and the venetians are in a state!  I need to replace 4 windows and wanted your opinion on the best hard wearing, value for money, window coverings.

    Any ideas????

    Cheers

    Hi DJay,

I would recommend plantation shutters – they are fixed to the window frame so they can't be pulled and there are not cords either, the only problem is they are on the expensive side, but probably worth it so you don't have to change them again for a while.

    Thanks,

    Kate

I used this online company to fit out an IP last year, I was pretty happy with them – www.cheapablinds.com.au/

I found http://www.bestwindowtreatments.com/ pretty good, but it really depends. Anything that is of aesthetic appeal will add value to your house.

Venetian blinds are notoriously high maintenance, especially in high traffic areas.

I'm a big fan of roller blinds as they look great (Venetians are only nice when they're new) and every property we have installed them in hasn't needed ongoing repairs like the Venetians did.

I found this company online: http://www.justrollerblinds.com.au/

    yep,
my PM told me to stay away from Venetian and vertical blinds as they will never be cleaned by the tenants and are high maintenance.
