Got one more question.
I have got a place under contract in Perth subject to building & pest, finance approved.
Its a 1 year old house built by Homebuyer’s Centre. I have been asking for a certificate of completion or something along those lines for over a week now, and they have been unable to produce anything. Today i got an email from the agent saying the vendor couldn’t find it.
The certificate i am looking for is essentially an independent signoff by council saying the house is sturdy meets plans etc. Should they be able to provide something like that, or should the building and pest inspection/conveyancy process be good enough??

Hi Q,
The council always keeps a file copy. If they’ve lost it, your conveyancer/solicitor should be able to find a copy when doing their standard searches.
