    Dear readers

    I am looking to buy my first investment property next year, when I have paid off my home mortgage.

    I would like to spend around $300K.

    Would it be more advisable to buy a 1 bedroom apartment in a blue chip location in melbourne (within 5- 7km radius of the CBD) or a house in south west melbourne – approx 20km out of the CBD?
