    Hi all!

I am trying to help my mother subdivide her property here in Stanthorpe, Queensland.

It seems that the council charge a fortune for doing almost nothing at all.

It is being done in the town, so we need to connect sewerage, electricity, telecommunications and water, and get the road made, which will convert the cement gutter into a driveway.

Does anyone know any suggestions to cut costs on anything, for example, the council wants to take 10% of the land for parks, or alternatively we can pay them to keep the 10%. This sounds dodgy to me, especially since they charge so much for all the other 'services'.

    Any help would be appreciated!!!
