    Hi all,

I am looking at putting in an offer on a place in NZ with a weatherboard 4 bdrm home on the front of a 1085 sq/m section.
What exactly do I need to do to subdivide this land?
I want to put either a portable house or an over 60's unit on the back and rent it while I wait for capital growth, I believe this is a boom area.
Is there a dummies guide to subdividing available for NZ?
Does anyone know the rough cost of this? Just a ballpark even?
Basically the yield is only bout 5.8% with just the house so not a great buy unless I subdivide.
Can I include a clause in the offer ie subject to council approval for subdivision?

Thanks in advance for any help

    Hey There,

Try this….. Call the local council and speak with the local town planner. He will probably sent you to hte local website to give you all the info you need….. while he is on the phone get the stages and costs perstage + Time frames … so you can plan well.

You will then need ot engage a surveyor and get it to submission stage….

    Good luck with it.
    Cheers
    Kiwi
