I’m Australian and working O/S, earning not bad money (able to save $1200-1500 per month). Currently have +cf dual occ ip in A.C.T. To a lender in Australia does this mean I’m a good risk for an ip loan, ie. is my working O/S recognised back home, or will I need to show that I’ve worked in Oz for 6 mths? I’m trying to decide whether to renew here for another year or return home, work and get financed to make my next purchase.
    Any advice/info/contacts welcomed.

    Hey Piscies133,

Can’t you answer here in general terms so that we all might learn?

I would have thought that the best person to answer this would be a mortgage broker who has access to a variety of loans.

IMHO, provided you can prove your income and reliability of your job, and provided the security of the loan stacks up, I can’t see there being a big problem.

    As for a contact, try Stuart at prosolution (www.prosolution.com.au) +61 3 9909 7100.

    Happy New Year!

    Bye,

There are a number of issues so it isn’t a subject suitable for general discussion Steve.

Thanks to pisces 133 and Steve for your replies. pisces I’ve sent you an email, and I’ll chase up Stuart from Steve’s reply, then try to put the important points together in an answer on this thread as soon as I know.

Thanks and Happy New Year to all on this forum.

    Ben,
I am also Australian and also working overseas. I purchased two ip’s in Perth during 2003 with no problems. Obviously a major consideration is that if they are not +cf then you havent got the normal negative gear beneftis whilst you are not paying tax in Australia. Both my properties are not +cf but like you I am earning good money and the capital growth so far has been good.

    Cheers

    Wayne
