    LOL
perhaps George and Co they have offices everywhere, but they aren’t all that popular with the locals. and drive in your own car to inspect a property rather than in one of their company vehicles.

George and co are an up and comming outfit they hope to have offices all over the world, their marketing plan is, how could i put it “aggressive”. Recently opened offices in Afganistan and i believe syria or North Korea as soon as their office in Iraq are running smothly

    lol

I was just able to call up one of there offices and the sales lady told me “We have positive cashflow properties here, she also thinks some of the properties are gonna more than double in price”

With the exchange rate, ive been lucky enough to put a few deposits on some properties that i think will have some great potenital, i think this will have better cashflow than the bus shelters, that were on offer earlier this year

Well im off to Western Union to transfer some money over.

    cheers

I know you’re all having fun with this, but seriously, how would an Australian go about investing in Iraq? Is it even legal for us to buy there? If so, would it be possible to mask the fact that I’m Australian (just incase tenants have any grudges)?

    Thinking big,
    Ian

    Hi Ian,

Before the fall of the regime it was nearly impossible for any foreigners to buy property. Even those that were married to Iraqi’s were unable to purchase unless extremely well connected. Interpretation of the so called legal system there is now under review. Many so called laws that normally would be required to be passed through legislation were just imposed and enforced. Probably the biggest task in rebuilding Iraq lies within the reconstruction of its legal system and economic policies with foreign interests or investors. That is why so many countries ( including Australia) are now lining up to get involved in the reconstruction phase. If you are seriously interested contact DFAT.

To get some of the good contracts, I suggest a healthy donation (at least 7 figures worth) to George Dubya’s re-election fund… the best contracts are going to go to the Americans.

    Hi Richmond,

Maybe the best contracts will go the way of the USA. But for now most of the contracts are being awarded to other countries and less then 15% have gone towards the USA.

    Hi Richmond,

Numbers or figures can be very misleading. I was waiting for your next question. Which I thought may be ‘what is the monetary value of the contracts awarded against the percentages?’. In this area the USA is in equal 2nd place.

    Hi Westan,

The top five countries are and I’m not putting them in order, is China, Japan, England, America and Russia. You choose your order and I’ll let you know later if your right. You only get one guess.
