    All,

Im interested in knowing how good +ve gearing has helped people in this forum, sort of like “if they can do it so can I …”

    Ok, Ill start….

I have “0” at the moment. Im still getting my facts together in here before I venture out and commit to IPs.

Id like to know if anyone has come close to Steve ?

    Regards,
    Arty.

I have 3 IP – 2 +ve geared and one neagtively geared. We purchased our first in 1998 – I really want to become more aggressive so that I can produce an income stream so that I can stop work and have our children and my husband & I don;t have to stress about losing an income.

I invest with a partner and on my own. We have around 20 IP’s now – the rent on each place covers all H/L repayments. We don’t have any -ve geared IP’s until you start doing depreciation and travel at tax time.

BTW we have purchased 90% of these in the last 9 months.

i’m 20, have 1 +ve IP, carefully looking for the second while my money is invested in shares..

i think when everyone is going property, property, property, i’ll be buying shares, and when everyone is going shares, shares, shares, i’ll be buying property.. it only makes sense to me…

i bet in another 3 or 4 years there will be a story every second night on the idoit box how shares made this person and that person rich

aaron yeah, all things are good.
We are still hounding our ex agent for $24K (deposit) they didnt pay us when our auction/sale was terminated by the buyer.

But apart from that we are preparing to search and buy a PPOR and at least 1 IP to get started.

    Arty.

    Hi Arty2003

in the interest of “if they can do it” i hope this may encourage you.
In 1997 i finished Bible College my net worth was $25,000 i started anew job 4 days aweek on about $35,000 PA. i needed IP’s to help us survive. i was able to buy 9 IP’s over the next 12 months. as these have increased in value i’ve bought more today i think i have 23 (i’m selling some that have gone up and buying cheap ones, 6 in the last 6 weeks).
At the end of the year i’m quiting my job (actually taking 1 year off without pay) as i believe i have enough income that i don’t have to work if i don’t want too. so i’ll relax for a while, buy some more properties, fix a few up and work out what i want to do with the rest of my life.
Hope this encourage’s you that if you buy carefully you can make it, I don’t expect it to be as easy to make money in the next 6 years as the last 6 but who knows.

    regards westan

    Hi Westan

Yeah ground out my half century this week. I hope the NZ cricket selectors are taking note. The middle order batting needs a bit of maturity.

    Hi all,

I don’t have any at the moment. Not long ago I refinanced my PPOR to pay out all my little grommity debts (car, c/c etc.) and so now I am concetrating on Saving Saving Saving… Trying to built up that illusive regular savings pattern for the darn bank…

Lots of research in the mean time… plus I have drawn up my 5 year and 10 year plan at Steve’s suggestion[^]

Westan – sounds like you’re had a successful ‘career’ in IP.

Out of curosity, what Bible College did you go to?

Oh yeh, and on topic – 1 PPOR, 1 IP…
